Hey guys I was looking at some youtube videos trying to find the right way of mixing snare in FL Studio for hip hop and trap type of beats.
I came to the conclusion that it’s all about the samples you start off with, always make sure that the snare sounds your working with are the right snare to start off with.
Then add a bit of compression to the snare, use fl studio preset compression and use “drum related compressor.
You can then take the lows down a notch something like -2 DB
Keep the mids nice and rich and push them up a bit if you need to.
Add a little bit of reverb if you need to
I like to use Pre AMP 1986 – and use the snare preset
This is how I like to mix my snare.
If you guys have other ideas or different ways of mixing a snare please let me know!
